Elastomer coupling offers higher torque capacity and stiffness

Rexnord is launching a high-performance, general-purpose, elastomer coupling that offers 25 per cent higher torque ratings and 40 per cent greater stiffness than the company's equivalent standard elastomer coupling range.

Called the Omega HDY, the new high-performance coupling combines all the advantages of its standard split elastomer 'flex' element, together with both close-coupled and spacer design formats. The result is an easy-to-install coupling with a replace-in-place facility, plus reduced inventory thanks to multiple distances between shaft ends mounting options using the same elements and hubs.

Torque ratings range from 28Nm to 48,000Nm, and torsional stiffness is up to 40 per cent greater than for models in Rexnord's standard Omega range.
