Electromagnetic guard lock has holding force of 1500N
Magne 2 is a safe magnetic lock with indication, developed by Jokab Safety AB, for locking doors to cells or lines with shut-down-sensitive processes. It can cope with severe environments and can hold a door closed electrically with a force of up to 1500N. In addition, magnetic materials will not be attracted to the magnet surface when the current is broken.
Magne 2, when used with an integrated non-contact sensor (Eden), meets safety category 4 of EN954-1. Eden sends a signal that indicates whether the door is securely closed or not. Another output signal indicates that the door is locked. These characteristics mean that Magne 2 is suitable for use in protecting against dangerous machine movements in shut-down-sensitive processes. Its indication also enables confirmation that nothing is fastened to the magnet surface.
Magne 2 has no moving parts, which makes it a long-life and robust component. A complete door product is available in combination with a handle profile. Using M12 connectors, it is easy to link several Magne 2 units and Eden sensors in series for controlling and monitoring by a Pluto safety PLC or a Vital safety module.
The Magne 2 can hold a door closed with a holding force as high as 1500N. The holding force is varied by connecting different voltages to the magnet (between 0 and 30V). In its locked state the Magne 2 has a steady current consumption, which means that there is no current surge when activated.
