When the latest Machinery Directive Harmonised Standards list was published on 18 March 2019 we reported that recital 14 of Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/436 stated that EN ISO 12100:2010 was to be withdrawn, but this was understood to be an editorial error (see here).
The situation has now been clarified with Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1863 of 6 November 2019, which was published in the OJ on 7 November. In this, point (7) states:
"Recital 14 of Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/436 erroneously states that harmonised standard EN ISO 12100:2010 should be withdrawn. For reasons of clarity that error should be corrected, deleting the reference to harmonised standard EN ISO 12100:2010 from that recital."
In addition, Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1863 includes a revised Annex III to replace that published in March. This Annex lists the harmonised standards being withdrawn and their dates of withdrawal. The revised Annex III has extended the dates of withdrawal for many of the standards in order to give machine manufacturers more time to prepare for the changes.
