Entry-level thermal imaging cameras withstand 2m drop test

Flir Systems report that all Flir E-Series thermal imaging cameras have been re-housed in a more rugged and robust outer casing that withstands a 2m drop test onto a hard surface without any detrimental effect.

Introduced with the new Flir i-Series early in 2012, the new rubberised IP43 housing has been designed to make the camera resistant to accidental knocks that can occur in the industrial workplace. And this development complements the warranties that already apply to all Flir cameras: two years on the full product and ten years on the detector.

Four models now complete the Flir E-Series that provide an easy upgrade path for those who need better image quality from an entry-level camera. The latest addition to the range is the new Flir E30 that has an integrated 2 megapixels visual camera and comes complete with Flir Tools, which the company considers to be the best entry-level package it has produced so far.
