The eNET range of Ethernet-to-serial converters, available from Audon Electronics, is a simple way of connecting any serial device, whether RS232 or RS485, to an Ethernet network. The converters are simple to set up, easy to operate and provide automatic network recovery. They are supplied with programming examples and Virtual Serial Port software to add serial ports seamlessly to an existing network.
There are currently four models in the range. The eNET-100 is the budget-level model, with a single RS232 or RS422/485 port. Housed in a robust plastic enclosure with mounting tabs, the eNET-100 is suitable for cost-sensitive applications. The eNET-132 has two serial ports, one RS232 and one RS42/485. It is housed in a robust metal enclosure and is suitable for industrial applications. A six-port version is available in the form of the eNET-432, which has four RS232 ports and two RS422/485 ports. Finally, the eNET-132W is a wireless WiFi version of the eNET-100. This unit supports IEEE 802.11b/g, uses spread Spectrum Technology with full WEP 64-bit/128-bit data encryption and has a maximum transmission rate of 54Mbps. Prices start from 65.
