Event to explore design and purchase of low-noise machinery
The HSE (Health and Safety Executive) and the Noise and Vibration Engineering Group of the Institute of Acoustics (IoA) are organising an event Buy Quiet / Design Quiet to promote the design and purchase of low-noise industrial equipment. The meeting takes place on 5 March 2013 in Nottingham.
According to the HSE, this is relevant to anybody with an interest in low-noise design including machinery designers (manufacturers) seeking knowledge of quiet-by-design and legislative requirements, and machinery purchasers/users seeking knowledge to understand/challenge machinery suppliers' claims. The meeting will be of particular interest to acoustics professionals advising purchasers and manufacturers of equipment.
The principles of low-noise design will be discussed and illustrated through practical case studies.
