Flexible drive shafts - standard and custom from S S White
SS White Technologies was at the 2010 Drives & Controls show to promote its flexible drive shafts. These are suitable for an extensive range of applications across a broad spectrum of industries, including machine building, aerospace, defence and automotive.
The company offers a range of standard products for speeds and torques from very low levels up to 12,000rpm and 75Nm, respectively, depending on parameters such as shaft diameter and bend radius. However, the company's capabilities also extend to the design and manufacture of custom flexible drive shafts. These can be produced as one-offs or in small quantities for bespoke automation or special-purpose machinery, or in much larger volumes for automotive and consumer product applications.
On its stand, S S White was exhibiting examples of drive shafts to illustrate its full capabilities, including units with heavy-duty shields to guide the drive shaft and provide protection in hostile environments.
