Free guide to temperature measurement
Cropico has published a new guide to temperature measurement detailing some of the common causes of error and how to avoid them. The free A5 colour Guide to Temperature Measurement provides a definition of temperature and heat. There is also a practical and easy-to-follow explanation of the three common temperature scales: Fahrenheit, Celsius and Kelvin.
Various informative sections cover the international practical temperature scale, temperature measurement and thermocouples (including details of the various types of thermocouples and choosing a thermocouple) and thermistors.
For ease of reference, the guide features a series of resistance and thermocouple tables, while a handy glossary provides explanations of terms relating to temperature measurement. These include ANSI (American National Standards Institute), IPRT (Industrial Platinum Resistance Thermometer) and SPRT (Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer).
