Free iPhone app for EN ISO 13857 safety distances
Troax is launching a machine safety app for Apple iPhones. It enables users to determine simply and quickly the type of machine guard required, based on standard EN ISO 13857:2008, Safety of machinery - Safety distances to prevent hazard zones being reached by upper and lower limbs. The app is based on Table 2 in the standard, which covers High risk applications.
According to Troax, customers and users of its products have been requesting a simple tool of this type. The app was therefore developed so users could see which Troax machine guard, range and type is appropriate.
Martin Ask, the Product Manager for Automation and Robotics at Troax Headquarters in Sweden, comments: "We take safety very seriously, and by being the first in our industry with a mobile safety app also proves that we are responsive to our customers needs."
The EN ISO 13857 safety distance app is currently available for iPhone and can be downloaded free of charge via the Apple App Store or scan the QR code on this page.
