Free measurement webinars from HBM

HBM has announced the dates for its series of free measurement technology webinars, which take place on the 19-21 September 2018. Designed to fit in with the challenging time constraints which can often make attending relevant training courses difficult, the latest webinars from HBM provide advice and focus on a variety of topics.

As stricter rules on emissions for marine engines make it more difficult for the industry to remain cost effective, better load measurements can help to ensure that ships adhere to the new standards while remaining competitive. With this in mind, Guy Beaho, Business Development Manager at HBM puts forward some viable options on how to reduce emissions and save costs through precise load measurements in Reducing Emissions through Load Measurements in Marine Applications, which takes place on 19th September at 9.00 a.m. (GMT). With a particular focus on load and torque applications, Guy will explain how to achieve accurate load measurements and will offer valuable advice on how to overcome the constraints and issues surrounding sensor integration.

This is followed by How to Estimate the Uncertainty of Force Measurements, which will take place on 20th September at 9.00 a.m. (GMT). In this webinar, Thomas Kleckers, HBM Product Manager will discuss how to come up with an estimation of the measurement uncertainty of your force measurement and how to improve the accuracy of your measurements.

Finally, participants can find out How to Calculate Residual Stress from the Measured Strain on 21st September 2018. As one of the most crucial points when doing a residual stress analysis is the calculation of the results, starting from the measured strains, this webinar, will provide suggestions and hints on how to improve the calculation of the residual stress by hole drilling, with some practical examples and a focus on the typical uncertainty of this type of analysis.

Each webinar, which usually takes a maximum of 30 minutes, can be easily assessed at a later date or simply used as a refresher course. As an added benefit, all registered attendees will receive a link to the webinar, via email, after the presentation.

All HBM webinars are free of charge and open to anyone. However, spaces are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Please reserve your space by booking at www.hbm.com/en/3157/webinars.
