Hand tools open T-slots in covered aluminium profiles
Two new hand tools from Item, available through Machine Building Systems, simplify the process of opening T-slots in profiles that feature a removable groove cover.
The T-Slot Opener 8N for Standard-Fastening Set is inserted at the end of the profile to remove the required length of cover to suit the Standard Fastener. Each movement of the lever is designed to remove 40mm of cover strip, making it simple to remove the right amount of material.
On the other hand, the T-Slot Opener 8N (pictured) can be used from he profile end or from a suitable opening along the profile (including a predrilled 9.2mm hole).
Manufactured from galvanised steel, the tools benefit from a PVC handle.
Also available is a T-Slot Deburrer for removing sharp edges from the groove after the strip has been removed.
