High-strength captive nuts exhibited

Unifast used the 2007 Fastening and Assembly Solutions Exhibition to show the Kapti-Nut high-strength captive nuts. Suitable for use in sheet steel, aluminium and pre-finished materials, Kapti-Nuts are simply pressed into position in a pre-pierced hole using a flat punch and a profiled die with a sprung location pin.

Because the Kapti-Nut has a square profile and radial splines it offers good resistance to torsion, and the die forms an anti-pull-out ring on the underside of the nut. When the insertion process is complete, the Kapti-Nut is flush with the component surface.

The process can either be used manually on a fly press or fully automated using very economical tooling.

Kapti-Nut fasteners are available unfinished or zinc plated and passivated in metric sizes from M3 to M18.
