Hitachi launches new 8.0inch WVGA TFT for user interfaces

The new transmissive display continues Hitachi's implementation of rugged, reliable and high-brightness LED backlighting in medium size TFT display modules. This provides excellent image uniformity and delivers a brightness of 350cd/m2 with a 200:1 contrast ratio.

Mark Stephenson, Product Manager for Hitachi Display Products Group, comments: "The wide aspect ratio format of the TX20D19 is becoming increasingly popular and enables flexible graphical user interfaces to be designed for many different application environments. High colour saturation and excellent uniformity make the new TX20 display module ideal for applications such as in-flight entertainment, media terminals, navigation systems, home automation and industrial user interfaces."

With compact dimensions of 189mm (W) x 120mm (H) x 7.5mm (D), the TX20D19 module weighs 170g. Electrically compatible with existing Hitachi WVGA displays, the TX20D19 features a 6bit RGB CMOS interface, which enables up to 262K colours to be displayed. The display module can be safely operated at temperatures between -20 and +70degC.

Supplied through Hitachi Display Products Group distribution partners, the TX20D19 is available across Europe immediately.
