Hotel refurbishment benefits from Retex enclosures
Getting the right look in a hotel room is important, but this cannot be at the expense of reliable function. Hylec-APL offered the functionality and reliability of the Retex enclosure range to an air conditioning company that was involved in the complete refurbishment of a large hotel complex. Together they were able to deliver a much improved climate control system that provided guests with an ergonomic and easy to use controller in each room.
The decision to refurbish a hotel is never taken lightly since the rooms under renovation no longer generate income, but the new rooms can command a premium, so completing the project on time and on budget is essential. One aspect that guests insist on working properly is the air conditioning system which requires a robust and durable control console in each room.
The company engaged in the air conditioning refurbishment was experienced in large-scale projects of this kind and regularly offered customers a choice of control stations for the rooms. Working with suppliers such as Hylec-APL allows the client to specify exactly the right design to suit the room d©cor and provide guests with everything they need.
In this particular case the Series 40 wall-mounted enclosure was selected as the base design with Retex providing bespoke machining to suit the control layout required by the air conditioning system. The Series 40 provides an ergonomic design that incorporates a recessed area to suit a membrane keypad as well as maximised internal space to accommodate terminals and control components. The lid is designed to allow printed circuits to be attached to it, with this application using the area to mount an LCD display. The ABS enclosure also includes a separate battery compartment, with a sliding lid, that allows it to be used for hand-held applications.
