How robotics can make a book into a real page turner

igus has released a video that provides an elaborate demonstration of a book scanner using a robolink articulated arm to turn the pages automatically between each page scan; the scanned pages can then be archived electronically and accessed for any purpose.

Available from igus as a modular system, robolink opens up a world of possibilities for low-cost robotics. By using the robolink designer tool, engineers and hobbyists alike can easily combine robolink components, design individual robots and add or remove optional components. Once configured, enquire and order directly online.

The robolink designer tool currently supports robolink S and W joint components, as well as the connection modular kits robolink R and Q. The beta version also includes robolink D components. Watch the video at www.igus.co.uk/robolinkappexample to see how the automated book scanner works.
