Phoenix Contact is extending its existing QPD installation system with a five-position version for the 2.5mm ² to 6.0mm ² cross-section range.

The advantage of the connectors is the IDC fast connection technology. This enables up to 80 per cent time savings during installation when connected in the field. For installation, the cable sheath is removed and the litz wires are arranged in the splice body, cut flush, and screw down the gland nut. No special tools are required for this. The IDC contacts themselves can withstand a load of 40A and 690V.

With their robust design, the connectors support flexible use. They satisfy the requirements of protection classes IP68/IP69k and IK07 impact strength. The range includes panel feed-through with M25 thread, cable connectors, connectors, and distributors in H and T format.

The QPD installation system is also available in four and five-position versions for cross-section ranges from 1.0mm ² to 2.5mm ². For further details please visit www.phoenixcontact.co.uk.
