Isolated quarter-brick converter delivers 120W at 24V
SynQor is launching the PQ60240QGA05 isolated DC/DC quarter-brick converter that delivers up to 120W of output power (at 5A) into the 36.8 x 58.4mm (1.45 x 2.3inch) DOSA standard package, and is just 10.9mm (0.43inch) high in open-frame format.
Operating at an efficiency of 92 per cent, the converter has minimal derating even in applications where there is limited cooling available. For example, with just 1m/s (200LFM) of airflow, the device can deliver the full rated output current up to 70degC. Reliability is a key factor in all of SynQor's designs, and this is reflected in the Telcordia calculated MTBF figure of 2.8Mhrs.
The small size, high power density, and input and output combination of the PQ60240QGA05 makes it suitable for applications where a 24V rail is needed in a 48V environment. For example, wireless telecom applications including wireless data transmission equipment, and fan trays. A baseplated option is available for applications requiring cold plate mounting.
SynQuor says its PQ60240QGA05 is capable of withstanding transients on the input to 100V for 100ms, and the unit has a basic isolation level from input to output of 2000V DC. Control and protection features include remote sense, a wide output voltage trim range of –20 to +10 per cent, input under-voltage lockout, output OVP, current limit, short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown. Operating temperature range is -40 to +100degC.
