IVS opens up its vision expertise to assist machine builders

IVS is also keen to demonstrate to machine builders the true value of machine vision systems. IVS Director Earl Yardley comments: "Many machine builders we are introduced to aren't aware of the fully functional benefits that vision systems have to offer. When projects include a number of machines and a high degree of automation, such as a medical device and automotive production lines, they have a choice to make and more often than not, they turn to us as their integration partner for vision."

By performing a second tier of engineering support and integration, IVS's specialist vision engineers empower machine builders to solely focus on the key feeding and assembly parts of their machine builds whilst IVS takes care of the more delicate vision elements of the project.

In addition, the IVS engineers will complement in-house teams by attending project meetings with customers and provide pre-sales vision tests and reports. Earl Yardley adds: "It's important to us that system integrators see our engineers as an extension of their own team, rather than an any other external source."

The IVS engineers can also collaborate with the end user and assist the machine builders with evaluating, designing and recommending the initial vision system requirements; supplying complete 3D CAD drawings of the vision set up for use in engineering designs; and providing full integration, commissioning and testing of the vision system.
