Kabelschlepp Metool has launched a smaller size in its TKHD heavy duty cable carrier range, offering all the benefits of the larger TKHD series variants. With a robust design and dirt resistant outer contour, these smaller size cable carriers are also said to be particularly quiet thanks to the integrated noise damping. The pitch of 85 mm and the polygon-optimized outer contour also support the quiet running of the cable carrier.
The new cable carriers are the TKHD85 and TKHD85-R (with integrated rollers). The inner height of 58 mm is said to be the ideal choice whenever not as much space is required for cables and hoses as in the large version. In return, users benefit from a lower weight, which is a clear advantage in particular for extended travel lengths.
Thanks to the installed stainless steel ball bearings, the integrated rollers of the TKHD85-R are subject to virtually no wear and are maintenance-free. Roller supported cable carriers prevent unwanted expansion on the extended travel lengths. Compared to a gliding cable carrier, the cable carrier system requires up to 90 per cent less force and therefore saves drive power and energy. Even at high travel speeds and accelerations, the cable routing runs smoothly and with low vibrations, reducing wear on the cable carrier and the cables and hoses to a minimum. And even very long travel lengths are possible thanks to the easy installation.
Last but not least, the cable carrier can run in existing guide channels, for example for retrofit applications. This reduces conversion effort to a minimum, saving time and money for the customer. Channels made of steel, seawater resistant stainless steel or aluminium are available for retrofitting and new installation.
