KMT launches PRO series high-pressure waterjet cutting products

KMT Waterjet Systems is introducing the new PRO series of high-pressure waterjet cutting products. With achievable cutting pressures of up to 6200bar, representing an increase of over 50 per cent compared with conventional 4000bar pressures, the new products will appeal particularly to companies looking to cut larger thick metal profiles.

All the products and components required for waterjet cutting with single cutting head machines can be found in the PRO range. This includes the Streamline PRO ultra high-pressure pump, the Active Autoline PRO abrasive cutting head, the AMS PRO abrasion management system and PSC PRO valves, pipes and fittings.

With high-pressure operation of the PRO Series, users get much better energy density for cutting, with 50 per cent more pressure through the cutting head orifice and focusing tube. As a result significant production benefits are achievable in terms of higher cutting speeds, improved cutting quality and less abrasive wear.

With the increased operational pressure, KMT has paid close attention to the design of PRO series products and particularly the topworks of the Streamline ultra-high-pressure pump. This approach has ensured minimal wear and tear on seals, minimal metal fatigue and reduced material stresses - all resulting in high reliability in operation. The pump has been especially designed to enable servicing and maintenance to be carried out easily, while the simple, modular structure of all of the PRO systems' components also makes it easy to replace parts when worn. Cooling for the pump is provided by either water, air/oil or chillers.
