Lambda to show new power supplies at Electronica 2006

At Electronica 2006, Lambda is showcasing an extensive array of new products, ranging from tiny board-mounting DC/DC converters to multi-kilowatt power supplies. Many of Lambda's new introductions are a result of the company's close co-operation with the TDK Corporation of Japan.

Lambda has also achieved the accolade of having its Genesys range of 3.3kW DC power supplies shortlisted in the Product of the Year category of the Elektra Awards that run concurrently with Electronica. Genesys power supplies have been developed specifically to meet the growing need for RoHS-compliant high-power units that are smaller, lower in cost, more reliable and easier to use than products currently on the market.

Martin Southam, Director of Marketing for Lambda Europe, comments: "This year, Electronica is an even more important exhibition for us than usual, as our relationship with TDK has now evolved to the point where new product introductions are coming thick and fast.

Modular power supplies

In addition to Genesys power supplies, highlights among other new product introductions on the Lambda stand include NV300 300W and NV700 700W modular power supplies that offer higher power densities to save space, and high efficiency that not only reduces wasted power but also minimises the generation of unwanted heat.

Also on show will be: the new MTW range of low-cost multi-output general-purpose supplies that feature a slim, lightweight environmentally-friendly design; ultra-thin RTW single-output supplies that are 50 per cent smaller than typical products of a similar rating; and SMD series DC/DC converters that combine a wide input voltage range with high conversion efficiency.

Throughout the exhibition, experts from Lambda will be on the stand to demonstrate the new products and give advice on the significant benefits, including cost-of-ownership savings, that ground-breaking power supply technology from Lambda and TDK can provide in visitors' own applications.
