The Business Commitment to the Environment (BCE) Environmental Leadership Awards is making its final call for competition entries. With less than two weeks to go until the competition closes, companies are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to demonstrate that corporate responsibility is an integral part of their organisation, that they are innovative and ahead of the competition.
David Miliband, who presented the 2007 Awards, said: "The mismatch between how we use natural resources and the steps we are taking to mitigate climate change is widening. The businesses that have won awards today are examples that I will use to persuade others in the UK and internationally that addressing climate change does not damage competitiveness"
It is free to enter and attend the Awards ceremony for any business eligible to pay corporation tax in the UK. Applicants are required to complete a simple application form that is available on the website (www.bceawards.org) before being assessed for the next stage, where those selected will be visited by one of the BCE technical panel.
To apply for the 2008 Awards, visit the BCE website today to download an application form and apply via email. The closing date for applications is Friday 19 October 2007.
