A characteristic feature of the Top Employer certification programme is the globally standardised examination process that all participating companies must undergo. The independent institute uses the so-called HR Best Practices questionnaire for this purpose. It assesses measures in six overarching HR dimensions: Steer, Shape, Attract, Develop, Engage and Unite. These include a total of 400 practices on which the participants must comment.
The Top Employers Institute certifies companies worldwide for their outstanding employee conditions. Through the certification programme, companies can have their efforts evaluated and use the results to make improvements. Founded three decades ago, the Top Employers Institute this year recognised more than 1,600 Top Employers in 120 countries/regions, across five continents.
