Lenze servo motors specified for telescopic conveyors

Lenze type MCS synchronous servo motors have been chosen by German automatic handling specialists Beewen for customised telescopic conveyors in its storage and retrieval systems. These twin-belt conveyors are used to place and remove goods in automatic warehouses. They are positioned by a stacker crane and their design is customised according to the goods being stored. The small size and high performance of the Lenze MCS servo motors provides the versatility that enables Beewen to meet its customers' requirements.

The telescopic conveyors are fitted with MCS motors rated up to 4kW and are used in conjunction with Lenze 9300 servo drives mounted onboard the stacker crane. After careful analysis of the operating conditions and taking into account the intensity of usage and the desired maintenance-free lifetime, Beewen standardised on the MCS range. Motors deliver up to three times nominal torque with virtually zero cogging effects and with an energy efficiency far better than that of asynchronous motors. Direct mounting to helical, bevel and planetary gearboxes aids the mounting flexibility. This is further enhanced by compact dimensions such that 4kW nominal power can easily be delivered with a motor body cross-section of only 110 x 110mm.
