Low-flow diaphragm pumps with low power consumption

Flojet is launching the Flojet LF Plus Beverage Dispense pumps series of low-flow industrial motor-driven diaphragm pumps. Flojet LF Plus pumps feature a new, lightweight design that reduces diaphragm cleaning time by up to 40 percent and weighs just 567g (20 ounces). Flojet is a Xylem brand and is described as a leading manufacturer of small motor-driven and air-operated pumps for industrial and beverage applications,

With proven reciprocating diaphragm technology, Flojet LF Plus pumps are suitable for moving liquids at temperatures of 0-43degC (32-110degF) and even liquids with acidic content, including syrups, juice concentrates, teas, wines, draft beers and liquor. The new Flojet LF Plus pumps have a flow rate of 3.8 LPM (1.0 GPM) and virtually silent operation, and are suitable for applications where space is restricted. The durable pumps draw so little power that they can operate on battery power, hence they can be mounted or used nearly anywhere, or used for back-up during a power cut.

Each of the new Flojet LF Plus pumps feature 360-degree quick-connect swivel ports to allow for complete freedom of port orientation, flexible mounting feet, an inline fuse, and a manual on/off switch that saves time and reduces operating costs. Flojet's optional switch technology is well proven, with over one million cycles to ensure consistent operation.

Luis Gonzalez, a Product Manager at Xylem, comments: "These new pumps are a cost-effective solution that minimise the need for additional components, which makes them easier to clean quickly and maintain."

The new Flojet LF Plus pumps attain operating pressures of up to 2.75bar (40psi), have self-priming capabilities up to 1.8m (6ft), and dependable run dry capabilities. The built-in thermal protector helps to prevent damage from overheating. Other built-in configurations of the Flojet LF Plus pump include a pressure switch shut-off, in addition to a bypass option that reduces cycling, offering excellent pressures for dispensing beverages and other industry uses.

Flojet LF Plus pumps are constructed from a variety of materials, including Geolast or Santoprene diaphragms, and EPDM or Viton check valves, all suitable for handling a broad range of service conditions. The one-piece welded pressure switch design, with epoxy sealed terminals, is built to provide years of dependable reliability.

Gonzalez adds: "The Flojet LF Plus robust electric diaphragm pump design has over seven million units in service today, found wherever food and beverages are served, and they are ideal for any beverage dispense or beverage transfer application."

Flojet LF Plus pumps are available in both 12V and 24V variants, with a 115V model coming soon. For more information, go to www.xylemflowcontrol.com/flojet.
