The Alpha Sign Nameplate & Decal Company is promoting its industrial nameplates that bear the CE mark in accordance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive. All such plates can be customised to suit the machine builder's requirements.
Anodically printed nameplates are manufactured from aluminium in thicknesses from 0.3mm up to 2mm. Extremely durable, the plates benefit from scratch-resistant print.
The process of anodic printing, also known as subsurface printing, involves opening the pores in a sheet of aluminium while it is immersed in an electrolyte. The open-pore aluminium is then printed with a copper dye, which is absorbed into the aluminium sheet, and finally sealed in boiling water.
Print produced in this way is impervious to steam cleaning, and is unaffected by petroleum products. This process is also used on chassis plates for vehicles and has been harnessed to produce high quality signage using Anocolour digital equipment for full-colour outdoor architectural applications.
Etched nameplates are available in 304 and 316 grade stainless steel or brass in thicknesses from 0.5mm to 3mm. These can be chemically engraved and infilled with the customer's choice of colours or left without infill to give a contrast where extreme conditions preclude the use of infill.
