All scheduled courses take place at the Pilz training facilities in Corby, Northamptonshire. However, additional training can be provided at the customer's own premises. Throughout the courses, highly qualified Pilz trainers are able to address specific concerns and can customise the training to meet individual customer requirements.

Martin Palmer, the Training Manager at Pilz Automation Technology, who last year was awarded a City & Guilds Medal for Excellence for his outstanding performance as a trainer in the processing and manufacturing sector, comments: "Pilz has a long history and tradition of providing high-quality machinery safety training and in helping customers to understand and apply the knowledge and skills gained in these courses to their own workplaces. As well as the theoretical side to machinery safety, we also like to make our courses as hands-on and interactive as possible, with plenty of practical exercises to help delegates apply the knowledge to their own projects and applications."

City & Guilds Machinery Safety Courses

In 2010 the most popular Pilz training course was the four-day City & Guilds Machinery Safety Course. This provides attendees with the knowledge that will help them to demonstrate a level of competency in machinery safety. It is suitable for people who have responsibility for existing or new machinery, including maintenance engineers, engineering/project managers, design engineers and manufacturers.

Pilz also offers a two-day course aimed specifically at managers, and a one-day course for supervisors. Both cover the application of EU Regulations and standards for machinery safety, explaining the full extent of the responsibilities for managers and supervisors under the current legislation.

Palmer adds: "Our City & Guilds courses are very well appreciated in the marketplace and we have a very high pass rate on these courses. The feedback we receive from attendees is very positive and useful in helping us to continuously develop the training and to ensure that the course content is relevant and updated."
