Magnetic lock features integral safety sensor

Jokab Safety is introducing a new Magne 2 electro-magnet for safety applications, featuring an integrated Eden non-contact door monitoring switch to indicate when the door is safely closed. The magnet includes an output signal to show when the holding force has reached the required level. This means the magnet can be monitored to ensure that it is mounted correctly and that there is nothing between the magnet and the holding plate.

Different holding forces of up to 1500N can be achieved by applying different voltages between 0-30V to the magnet. At 0V there is no magnetic field - and no residual magnetism. This way, no magnetic material can be retained on the magnet, which ensures reliable operation.

Accessories for use with the Magne include a handle and an installation kit for use with hinged doors.
