Matsuura will hold its first Open House of 2009 on 12, 13 and 14 May at its Leicestershire headquarters. This event will herald the European launch of two new Matsuura multi-pallet machine tools equipped with reliable and proven unmanned running as standard.
In keeping with the growing demand in the UK for proven cost-effective 'lights out' manufacturing performance and multi-tasking unmanned manufacturing, the main theme of the event will be unmanned multi-tasking CNC production - and this Open House will be Europe's first opportunity to see the eagerly awaited Matsuura CUBLEX-42, a fully integrated mill/turn/grind, five-axis, multi-tasking, multi-pallet machine that offers zero set-up times for chuck/fixture changeover.
Also new to Europe will be the latest incarnation of the company's best-selling horizontal, namely the Matsuura H.Plus-405. Configured as a twin-pallet machine, this offers even more production possibilities and unmanned running from 12 per cent less floorspace than its predecessor.
Matsuura's dedicated industry and product specialists will be on hand throughout all three days to offer advice and information on subjects such as:
Matsuura UK has in recent years supplied many CNC production installations in the UK that have been designed and project managed by Matsuura from the ground up to not only compete against low-cost competitor economies, but to make a profit; even in this global downturn there are very real and increasing future opportunities for UK CNC metal cutting businesses, particularly with the protracted weakness of Sterling.
Matsuura UK's OEM-developed TPS (tools, pallets, scheduling) software will also be demonstrated continually throughout the event, with the opportunity for visitors to talk to current UK users of this dynamic and cost-effective package.
Also being demonstrated will be MST Mizoguchi's Shrink Fit Tooling, a range supplied by Matsuura UK for over a decade, and a genre of toolholding that has seen a dramatic increase of UK users in the past 24 months.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided on all days. Lunch will be available between 12:00 and 14:00.
There will be CNC products from across the range of Matsuura multi-pallet machines in all configurations on show engaged in live cutting and production demonstrations on all three days.
Industry Partners also exhibiting at the Matsuura Open House. So even if you are not in the market for a new machine tool, there are still plenty of cost-effective productivity-enhancing reasons to visit the Matsuura Open House. The following companies will be exhibiting and demonstrating their latest products:
Renishaw and GSPS will be demonstrating how to implement short- and long-run process monitoring and unmanned process control on Matsuura V.Plus vertical machining centres using their latest software-based probing systems.
Vericut software simulates CNC machining in order to detect errors, potential collisions, or areas of inefficiency. Vericut enables NC programmers to correct errors before the program is ever loaded on the machine, thereby eliminating manual prove-outs. Vericut also optimises NC program cutting speeds for more efficient machining "" even for high-speed machines.
The KomTronic Head is a freely programmable u-axis system making any contour and turning operation possible on non-rotationally symmetrical parts. For the demonstration it will be integrated with a Matsuura H.Plus-630 Horizontal.
Operations that would have previously required a separated turning process can be completed in the one operation on a machining centre. Combined with custom-made front tools and selected inserts, contours in bores and external machining operations can be successfully carried out, thus achieving a considerable reduction in production time and manufacturing costs.
GibbsCAM is a state-of-the-art, PC-based computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) system for programming computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools. GibbsCAM is organised as a single application.
Great demands are made on data carriers used in CNC toolholders. They need to be as small as possible while still being resistant to all kids of media and ambient conditions.
The new generation of Zoller tool pre-setter and measuring machines are now even faster, more precise and more economical. See the production and cost benefits of these units work in conjunction with Balluff Chips at the Open House.
FSE is said to be the UK's premier manufacturer of chip/swarf management systems, supplying standalone or central filtration for modern machine shops. Products include: media-free filtration, high-pressure coolant (fixed and variable) chip conveyors, chip processing plants, fully automated swarf disposal and coolant reclamation, automatic coolant top-up systems, air and oil mist filtration, spin windows, tramp oil separators and a host of machine tool accessories.
FSE also manufacturers the Nelly sump sucker (an advanced coolant sump vacuum).
Sandvik Coromant will be providing the complete tooling package for the Matsuura mill/turn/grind five-axis multi-tasking machine, the CUBLEX-42.
ITC is a round tool specialist. Whatever the requirement, from a one-off special to 1000 pieces, ITC can provide cutting tools that work.
CNC Fluids will be supplying and maintaining the coolant for the demonstration machines at Matsuura's Open House.
