Mclennan to distribute Pittman, MCG and MAE motors
Mclennan Servo Supplies is being appointed as the official UK and Ireland distributor and stocking partner for Pittman, MCG and MAE branded motors, gearmotors and drives from USA motion specialist AMETEK Technical & Industrial Products (TIP).
AMETEK TIP is appointing Mclennan, already a long-standing distributor for MAE stepper motors, after a comprehensive search as part of its European distribution reorganisation. Together the three manufacturers' ranges span the complete small and precision-brushed and brushless motor market and extend to high-torque stepper motors up to 12Nm and high-performance brushless servomotors to 38Nm. All companies provide customisation to standard products and each range is supported with gearboxes, brushed DC and brushless servo drives.
Both the Pittman and MAE brands are well known to the UK and Ireland. Previously a part of PennEngineering Motion Technologies, which was acquired by AMETEK TIP in 2006, the products have a long and successful history and are widely specified by OEMs, end users and machine builders across many industries.
Pittman brushed and brushless motors are characterised by their wide choice of standard products and numerous custom options including on-board electronics, brakes and special shafts. The brushless motor range includes slotted and slotless motor technology for a wider choice of power, efficiency and performance.
Italian-manufactured MAE steppers are available in NEMA 16 through 42 frame sizes and in a choice of three magnet technologies to match price and performance requirements.
MCG brushed motors are available in NEMA 23 and 34 frame sizes and feature low cogging torque with simple brush commutation for smooth performance, while its selection of brushless motors spans four ranges, offering a wide choice of standard configurations and optional gearboxes, encoder technologies and brakes. An integrated motor and drive range is also available along with variable speed and brushless servo drives.
This appointment consolidates Mclennan's distribution of MAE stepper motor products and provides a comprehensive stock delivery and local support service for customers of Pittman and MCG in the UK and Ireland. Both Pittman and MCG products fully complement McLennan's existing product range, which covers precision motion control based mechatronic products with the ability to provide custom designed turnkey systems.
