Micro-Epsilon product summary: non-contact temperature sensors

Micro-Epsilon offers a family of non-contact temperature sensors using infrared and laser technologies. Between them, the models are capable of making precise non-contact temperature measurements from -40 to 900degC.

Included in the range are the optris CT, which is claimed to be one of the smallest infrared temperature sensors available. A separate module for the electronics means that the sensor head can be mounted in areas where the ambient temperature is up to 180degC - without the need for cooling. Up to 32 sensing heads can be networked together.

The optris CT laser sensor features double laser aiming marks, so users can easily see the size of the measuring spot on the target.

Compact and low-cost, the optris CS infrared thermometer features a compact M12 x 87mm long threaded housing that incorporates all of the electronics. It can measure temperatures from -20 to 350degC.

For applications calling for a compact, low-cost infrared thermometer, the optris CSmicro has an M12 x 28mm sensing head, with the electronics built into the cable rather than the sensor head (photo).

The thermoIMAGER TIM is a very compact (45x45x62mm) thermal imager, with measuring ranges of -20 to 100, 0-250 or 250-900degC. Users have a choice of lenses, all power and communications are conveyed via a USB interface, and prices are said to be substantially lower than those of conventional thermal imaging systems.
