MicroFluidics catalogue of standard and bespoke systems
Burkert's new MicroFluidics catalogue highlights how automation and miniaturisation are coming together in integrated, customised fluidic systems that provide more advantages than standard products in critical medical, biomedical and analytical fluid control applications. These systems are improving established processes substantially, not only by means of higher speed and improved throughput, but also through reduced costs, as smaller sample and solvent volumes are required.
MicroFluidics is a customer-oriented system that provides both standard and bespoke fluid control products in a wide range of application environments, from clinical diagnostic technology, DNA synthesising and medical instruments to high-throughput laboratory automation, dentistry, analytical processes and industrial ink jet production.
The technology is concerned with the real physics of precision dosing, batching, mixing, distributing, sampling and reagent preparation, where dead legs, internal volume, chemical resistance and precision are paramount. The fluids handled can be ultra-pure water, aggressive solvents, biochemical substrates, highly concentrated acids or dyes, fast-drying industrial inks and crystallising fluids.
