Microvert mini variable-speed motors now available in the UK

The new Microvert product is a case in point; while there are motors on the market with integrated frequency inverters, few achieve this within the standard dimensions of an electric motor. The result of the Microvert design is savings in space, weight and price. Microvert motors are also highly energy efficient, generate minimal heat and are very quiet.

With powers from 0.01kW to 0.2kW and models available in IEC frame sizes 56 and 63, Microvert motors give machine designers the option to use a compact, asynchronous motor powered directly from a single-phase supply. It is suitable for applications that call for high start-up torque and controlled acceleration/deceleration. Typically Microvert motors will be used to drive actuators, conveyors, small pumps and blowers, ventilators and food processing machinery.

Microvert is one of many products that have been developed by Carpanelli to provide designers with innovative and unusual motor characteristics. Indeed, in the region of 60 per cent of the company's product output is for special or customised units. Carpanelli motors are now manufactured in a purpose-built facility that is just nine years old. Every element of the motor is either made by Carpanelli or sourced within the EU.

The design and build quality of its products have earned Carpanelli regular custom throughout Europe. Around 70 per cent of its motors are exported from Italy, with a growing number meeting the needs of UK industry. And it is to provide a dedicated service to these customers that a UK division of the company has now been created. It is headed by Adrian Hall, a mechanical engineer who has been associated with Carpanelli for more than 20 years.
