Miniature linear servo motors now in a larger size

At the 2010 Medtec exhibition EMS was demonstrating the new Faulhaber LM 2070 series linear DC servomotors, which was the first time this larger, more powerful model of actuator has been shown in the UK.

The new LM 2070 measures 20 x 28 x 70mm and weighs just 236g - yet it provides a peak force of 27.6N, a continuous thrust of 9.2N and a choice of stroke lengths from 40 to 120mm. Depending on the model, the maximum acceleration is 93.9 or 54.8m/s2 and the maximum speed is 1.9 or 2.6m/s.

Furthermore, the LM 2070 series is available in two versions: the -01 version uses three analogue Hall sensors for feedback, with the three output signals used for commutation and position control via an optional external motion controller; the -02 version is designed for sin/cos control using just two analogue Hall sensors, with control via an optional external sin/cos controller.

Both motors can be position controlled without the use of an external encoder. Motion controllers are available with serial or CAN interface. The easy-to-use Motion Manager Software is included for use with the analogue -01 version.
