Made-to-order components also to be manufactured in Europe in the future
Misumi is moving elements of production from the Far East into Europe, and manufacturing will start with hinge pins and fulcrum pins: other components are set to follow in 2021. The company states that as a result, its European customers can now look forward to even faster delivery plus reduced dependence on production in East Asia. Until now, the company’s precision mechanical parts were manufactured exclusively in Asia. The MTO sector forms the heart of the MISUMI range and the company adds "while also providing a unique selling point because no other supplier allows design engineers to configure so many parts in such detail".
Alongside hinge pins and fulcrum pins, next year will see cantilever shafts, linear shafts, distance elements and rotary shafts rolling off the production lines at European production sites. MISUMI says it wants to expand its global production capacities so that it can meet steadily increasing demand on a long-term basis. The company will also adapt more closely to European customers and their requirements to include items such as specialised services and product variants. “We’re moving closer to our regional customers with the launch of MTO production in Europe. To do so, we're establishing a production network in Europe, which includes strategic partnerships in addition to our own production. This will enable us to offer our customers competitive prices and short response times and meet our high quality and delivery reliability standards for the long term,” states Arno Schwarz, Senior Corporate Officer at MISUMI.
