New CEO at FLIR Systems
Earl Lewis has retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of FLIR Systems. Andrew Teich, formerly President of the company's Commercial Systems division is taking his place allowing Mr Lewis to assume a senior advisor role to aid in the transition. He will also remain Chairman of the Board of Directors of FLIR.
Mr Teich has almost 40 years' experience in the thermal imaging market. He rose through the ranks of sales engineer and sales manager to Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Inframetrics, the infrared camera manufacturer that was ultimately acquired by FLIR Systems in 1999. Since the year 2000 Mr Teich has undertaken a variety of top management roles throughout the FLIR Systems business.
Mr Teich says: "I am, of course, very pleased to be offered the opportunity to lead FLIR. I look forward to leading this outstanding management team and our global group of dedicated employees to the next level of growth."
The management changes coincide with FLIR Systems' announcement of the first quarter's financial results for 2013. The company's revenue was $348.6 million, largely unchanged compared with the first quarter 2012 revenue of $348.5 million. However, within the Commercial Systems division, revenue from the Thermal Vision and Measurement segment was $167.4 million, an increase of 7 per cent from the first quarter results last year.
