New crimping tool puts the squeeze on cable assembly costs

The Crimpfox Vario 4S crimping tool from Phoenix Contact is designed to provide reliable joining of insulated, uninsulated and TWIN ferrules. It features an integrated pressure lock which can be released without using a special tool

New crimping tool puts the squeeze on cable assembly costs

Phoenix Contact says that the tool's self-adjusting crimping jaw enables the processing of ferrules in accordance with DIN 46228-1 and -4 and (with special collars) in a cross-section range from 0.25mm to 4mm² as well as TWIN ferrules up to 2 x 1.5mm² without having to make adjustments. In addition, the crimping tool supports a cross-section range from 6mm to 10 mm² and 16 mm². The special square crimping shape is said to deliver the maximum possible contact surfaces and high conductor pull-out values, are are therefore also useful for spring connection technology.
