New external illumination controller introduces scalable product family for machine vision applications

Engineered to deliver precise synchronisation between cameras and lighting in both continuous and strobe operation, the TPL-CONTROL-1 provides greater control over illumination intensity, timing and system configuration, helping to maximise image quality and inspection reliability across demanding industrial applications.

The controller communicates via Ethernet (UDP/RJ45) as well as RS-232 and includes an integrated web interface for straightforward commissioning and parameter configuration without additional software.

Modular architecture

Built around a highly flexible modular architecture, the TPL-CONTROL-1 supports up to 16 independent lighting channels through a single control interface, consisting of one master unit and up to 15 slave units. The master controller can also operate as a standalone unit, providing full functionality without requiring additional hardware.

This scalable concept allows users to start with a single controller and seamlessly expand their lighting system as application requirements grow, reducing system complexity while protecting future investment.

Introducing the External Control (EC) product family

The launch of the TPL-CONTROL-1 also marks the introduction of TPL Vision's new External Control (EC) product portfolio. Based on the company's modular lighting platform, a growing selection of established illumination products is now available as EC versions, combining the proven optical performance of existing TPL Vision lights with the advanced functionality of external illumination control.

Customers can select the lighting geometry best suited to their application while benefiting from configurable current control, precise triggering, synchronisation and future system expandability, all within a unified control architecture.

The initial EC portfolio is available now and includes the following product families: M-TBAR EC; EBAR+ EC; ELINE EC; M-HPRING EC; M-TRING EC; and HPBACK EC. Additional TPL Vision illumination families will be introduced as EC products over time, further extending the flexibility of the modular platform.

With the combination of the TPL-CONTROL-1 and the expanding EC product family, TPL Vision offers customers a flexible and scalable illumination platform that adapts to evolving machine vision requirements while maintaining the proven optical performance and reliability of its established lighting solutions.
