Harting's new Han 24 HPR EasyCon is a high-current connector for motor drive applications in the railway industry. It offers simple, swift and certain assembly to respond to the growing trend in the rail technology sector towards pluggable motor applications.
The Han 24 HPR EasyCon is based on the size 24 B Han HPR series housings, but differs in essentially comprising a two-piece surface-mounted housing and hood. Dividing the housing into an assembly cover and a housing body results in an 'open' system that simplifies the assembly while offering substantial advantages - particularly for shielded cables.
Harting says the new connector allows a secure - and above all visible - assembly of the cable's shield braid thanks to a newly developed cable clamp. Han HC Modular 350 high-current contacts are used to handle the power transmission.
Han 24 HPR EasyCon connectors feature a robust and compact design with ample space for wiring, which is a key requirement in the rail sector. The provide customers with secure, convenient and swift connection of the contacts and shielding, resulting in reduced time and costs for the installation process.
