New Micro-Trak 101 series high mass flow meter/controller

With the increasing trend towards micro technology, measuring and controlling extremely low gas mass flow has become a necessity for scientists and engineers. The Micro-Trak incorporates new technology that enables it to measure and control micro mass flows of gas to a level of accuracy and reliability that Litre Meter says has previously not been available.

The Micro-Trak incorporates new, state-of-the-art sensor technology and a precision-engineered direct-acting valve design. It has been designed to operate at flow ranges under 4sccm with a minimum controllable mass flow rate of 0.1sccm. It is highly stable and delivers a measurement accuracy of +/-1.0 per cent full scale and +/-0.2 per cent repeatability.

With a stainless steel flow path and elastomer seals, the Micro-Trak is leak-free and suitable for use in most applications involving clean gases - including those that involve corrosive and toxic gases.

The instrument is small, with a footprint of 76mm x 25mm. It operates from a 24V DC supply and is offered with a choice of communications.

Sierra's state-of-the-art Dial-A-Gas technology means that the Micro-Trak's internal microprocessor is pre-programmed with ten gases that are commonly used in biotech, pharmaceutical, analytical and research applications - other gases can be substituted to customise the flowmeter for particular applications. This technology allows the instrument to be used for multiple applications, creating great flexibility as well as helping to reduce spares inventory.

An optional Pilot Module is available that can be mounted directly on the instrument or up to 15m (50ft) away. The module incorporates a large LCD display and six pushbuttons that are used to change parameters such as gases, flow rates and units.
