Petra Jani is new Plant Director at AWS Slovakia

Jani has extensive experience in manufacturing and joins AWS from her previous position with the Korean Automotive Tier 1 supplier PHA, where she was Managing Director of its Slovakia factory. Previously, she has held senior management positions including Head of Operations, Head of Production, Head of Engineering and Head of Maintenance at a number of companies in Europe.

Welcoming Jani to AWS, Chief Executive, Paul Deehan comments: "We are delighted to have Petra on board to continue the success of AWS Slovakia, which is seeing revenue growth increase by 15 to 20 per cent a year. Much of this has been driven by demand from the automotive sector where Petra has a depth of knowledge. We have also recently taken on further production space for the second time in two years. This includes a new high-volume line for general industrial products and further investment in growing our automotive line due to securing additional contracts. Petra's extensive knowledge of the industry will be invaluable as production ramps up further in these areas."

Jani adds: "AWS in Nmestovo is a Slovakian success story which showcases state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities complemented by a local workforce of more than 230 employees. I'm proud to take up the post of Plant Director and look forward to expanding the business further across all of the sectors that AWS work in, such as scientific instruments, medical, data storage, security, automotive, defence and general industrial applications to name only a few."

AWS Electronics' Slovakian manufacturing centre carries ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 13485 approvals and is working towards ISO/TS 16949 automotive certification with completion of final audits targeted for November 2016.
