Plastic caps suit Item Line 6 and Line 8 aluminium profiles
Item is introducing new plastic caps for use on Line 6 and Line 8 aluminium profiles of the following sizes: 30x24, 60x24, 40x32 and 80x32mm. These are all available through Machine Building Systems.
The low-profile caps are secured in place by pressing/tapping them into the profiles' core bores. According to Item, the cap geometry suppresses vibrations and is resistant to temperature changes.
As well as providing a good aesthetic finish, the caps avoid the need for deburring cut profiles (and the purchase cost of the caps could well be lower than the labour cost associated with deburring operations).
