Portal to act as 'device networking application marketplace'
www.DeviceConnection.net is a new portal, hosted by Lantronix, where customers can find specialised applications or services provided by the community of third-party developers. It also provides a secure area for developers to collaborate and share ideas with their peers as they build new products and service offerings.
Bob Cross, senior vice president of research and development of Lantronix, explains: "DeviceConnection.net is an online marketplace where our customers can find existing applications or developers with specific domain expertise in creating custom solutions that enhance Lantronix hardware and software. Centralising these resources will help speed the adoption of device networking and expand the market potential for our partner's applications and services. In addition to serving the needs of customers and developers, DeviceConnection.net is a resource for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), value-added resellers (VARs), independent software vendors, integrators, distributors and vendors. At DeviceConnection.net, visitors can find a range of information and resources as well as links to specific developer sites for additional information. Visitors can search for applications or service offerings based on operating system, platform, protocol, industry, application type, country, or language. In addition to the public site, developers can access a password-protected section where they can join discussion groups to share ideas, experiences, and application stories for solutions developed for Lantronix products. They can also upload a variety of technical information.
