Positilt inclinometers cope with industrial environments

ASM is introducing the innovative new PTAS2 inclinometer series with ranges from +/-15 to +/-180degrees in a robust, IP68-rated stainless steel housing. This industrial-grade sensor has been developed to withstand the harsh conditions encountered in applications such as factory automation machines and robotics, mobile cranes, draw bridges, adjustable platforms and off-highway construction equipment.

The PTAS2 series is the latest addition to the Positilt family and is available with three different absolute analogue outputs: 0.5-5V, 0.5-10V and 4-20mA with a typical resolution of 0.1degree. The measurement range is available from +/-15 to +/-180degrees in 15degree increments. The compact 36mm (1.4inch) diameter housing with servo flange mounting allows for quick and easy installation.

Since the PTAS2 is based upon wear-free, multi-Hall Effect position sensor technology, it is said to offer significantly increased reliability in extreme environments. The PTAS2 is tested to withstand 100g shocks and 20g, 10Hz-2kHz vibration.
