The Power of Aluminium Awards, a brand new international competition designed to recognise and reward design and innovation using aluminium, has now been launched and this is your chance to win a share of £50,000 in prize money. Backed by leading UK designer Wayne Hemingway, the Awards will celebrate design excellence in three main prize categories:
Consideration will also be given for additional awards for New Product Design and Most Innovative Surface Finish.
Speaking about the launch, Wayne Hemingway, Designer and Founder of Hemingway Design, says: "I am pleased to be part of the Power of Aluminium Awards. The world of design, construction and manufacturing is moving very quickly and awards like these reward those who are pushing the boundaries."
The awards will be presented at Warwick University on 17 April 2008. Entries are welcomed from architects, clients, contractors, designers, developers, engineers or any member of the project team involved. Judges will be looking for submissions illustrating the innovative use of aluminium, with aluminium extrusion as an integral feature, lifecycle thinking, environmental awareness, sustainability, commercial and technical viability.
The Power of Aluminium Awards is an exciting development within the industry, aimed at increasing the consumption of aluminium and demonstrating to the world the real power of aluminium in the modern environment.
