PPMA seminars on the New Machinery Directive

Due to popular demand, two new dates have been added to the Processing and Packaging Machinery Association's (PPMA) seminars on the New Machinery Directive.

PPMA seminars on the New Machinery Directive

The seminars, which are supported by Laidler Associates, are being run on 13 May and 24 June 2010 at the Marriot Hotel in Northampton; it is said that they will provide delegates with all the information they need to ensure their company is complying with the required changes of the New Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC that came into force on 29 December 2009.

Each one-day seminar provides an overview of exactly what the actual changes are and, in addition to presenting the seminar, Laidler Associates' consultants will be on hand to give advice and guidance on specific queries.

The seminars include information on subjects such as:

  • Partially Complete Machines
  • Changes to Health and Safety Requirements
  • Application to Modified Machinery
  • New Conformity Assessment Procedures
  • Technical File Composition

The Laidler Group is the PPMA's official partner for regulatory affairs and its preferred supplier of technical consultancy services. It also offers a range of advisory and consulting services including free telephone/email support for members of the PPMA.

Speaking about the New Machinery Directive seminars and the demand for information on this subject, managing director of the Laidler Group, Paul Laidler, states: "It is not surprising that we have had such a high level of interest in the New Machinery Directive seminars, as there is still a good deal of confusion and lack of awareness regarding the introduction of the new Machinery Directive and how it will affect companies. In partnership with the PPMA we are able to provide delegates to the seminars with the necessary knowledge and tools they require in order for them to ensure that their company is doing everything they must to comply with the new directive".
