Pressurex film indicates pressure and distribution

Pressurex pressure-sensitive film reveals pressure distribution and magnitude between any two contacting or impacting surfaces. This thin plastic film is placed at the actual contact surface and instantaneously and permanently captures the pressure profile by virtue of a colour change. Similar in philosophy to Litmus paper, the colour Pressurex turns is directly proportional to the amount of pressure applied.

Common applications for sensor films include:

  • Nip impressions (between rollers)
  • Bolted joint and gasket surface contact uniformity
  • Heat sink assessment
  • Heat seal analysis
  • Lamination press planarity and parallelism measurement
  • Clamping or forming operations where pressure needs to be evaluated

An economical sample kit is now available for just US$199. The sample kit consists of seven one-foot sections (30.5cm) of Pressurex pressure sensor film (one from each of the pressure ranges from 2psi (0.14kg/cm2) to 43,500psi (3000kg/cm2).

Sensor Products offers a 100 per cent 'no risk' policy: if you are not completely satisfied, return the unused portion for a full and prompt refund.
