Ranges of roller beds for effective workplace handling

ESAB is launching new roller beds to help improve productivity and enable cylindrical fabrications to be handled effectively during rotation welding. They can typically be used when fabricating pipes or pipelines, wind turbine towers and pressure vessels.

Ranges of roller beds for effective workplace handling

The LLR-500 conventional roller bed is designed to handle lightweight workpieces and provides a loading capacity of up to 250kg for both the drive and idler units, giving a total load of 500kg. For larger components, the LLR-3000 has a load capacity of 1500kg each for drive and idler units for 3000kg loads. The roller beds can handle workpiece diameters from approximately 50mm-1000mm for the LLR-500 and 286mm-1006mm for the LLR-3000.

All the new roller beds are robust, high-quality units that are designed to withstand the harsh conditions encountered in fabrication shops. Stepless adjustable speed is a feature of all models, and they also include a low-voltage foot pedal with start/stop function. The simple design of the roller beds ensures easy electrical and mechanical maintenance with just a few spare parts are required. All models are built to meet international EN safety requirements.

ESAB offers a wide range of roller beds with different load possibilities. The range includes conventional roller beds, where the distance between the rollers can be adjusted manually or by leadscrew, to suit different diameters. Self-aligning models are also available, where the rollers automatically adjust themselves to the diameter of the workpiece. Roller beds are designed to be combined with ESAB's A2/A6 process controller PEK system for submerged arc welding, GMAW welding and arc gouging.
