Rapid response line launched for expansion joint problems

Engineers concerned with the health of an expansion joint can now ring a 24-hour emergency response line. The new service from James Walker Townson offers inspection of the joint within 24 hours, anywhere within the UK.

Bill Evans, managing director of James Walker Townson, says: "A failure in an expansion joint can be catastrophic and lead to huge losses in downtime. With our new emergency service, companies can receive a rapid assessment of any problems so they can have the fault remedied as soon as possible."

The service is open to all companies in the UK, not just James Walker Townson customers. The freephone number, 0800 7833022, operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Expansion joints are used to compensate for movement in pipes and ducts due to temperature and pressure changes and vibration. They are an essential component in a wide variety of applications, including power generation, gas turbines, petrochemical plants and heating and ventilation systems.
