Risk assessment software for Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

A new version of Laidler Associates' Risk Management Software System, which is now known as mCom Machinery Safety Software, has been warmly received following its launch at Health and Safety '10 - South in February 2010. This new version provides up-to-date guidance on risk assessments for CE Marking to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, PUWER 98 and the working environment.

Risk assessment software for Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

Laidler's mCom Machinery Safety Software simplifies and speeds the process of assessment, as well as helping to ensure that no vital steps are missed.

The latest version has been updated to cover the requirements of the new Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC, compliance with which became mandatory on 29 December 2009. Other enhancements to the software include an option for users to decide whether they work to EN ISO 13849-1 or EN 954-1 for the safety of machinery, and there is also an on-disk copy of the new PUWER Approved Code of Practice from the HSE (Health and Safety Executive).

Simple to use

Modules guide users through the steps necessary for compliance by means of a simple question-and-answer approach that ensures that every step is completed. The modules then generate detailed reports in a uniform format, which makes it easy to fully document risk assessment processes and, in the case of CE marking, produce the essential technical files. If non-compliances are found, a prioritised 'to do' list is created. A further benefit of the system is the ability to store reports electronically.

The mCom Machinery Safety Software runs on Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. Laidler is offering a free demonstration version for download from www.laidlersoftware.com.
